Lily has been teaching Greensleeves students throughout the area since 2017. She has trained on the cello for nearly 15 years and is a pianist and skilled guitarist as well.
Lily was born in Bermuda and grew up in Pennsylvania. As a student at West Chester University, she holds down a dual major in Music Education and Cello Performance. An active chamber musician, Lily has performed across the East Coast. She’s also a member of the WCU Symphony Orchestra and regularly performs with the Berks County Sinfonietta.
Lily is currently traveling throughout Europe. Her journey culminates in Vidin, Bulgaria where she’s managing a music festival and is set to perform the Elgar Cello Concerto. Here’s Lily performing this beautiful piece:
This June, Lily had the incredible opportunity to study at the Daponte Institute in Maine and perform with colleagues from the University of Maryland.
While back home in Pennsylvania, Lily says, “I enjoy, learn, and take pride in teaching my students!” Lily always tries to hold her students to high musical standpoints and takes a holistic teaching approach. “I aspire for my students to experience music through a technical and theoretical standpoint as well as at an emotional and psychological level.”
This fall, Lily enters her senior year at WCU and is excited for her next endeavor as a student-teacher. Following college, she plans on attending graduate school and to continue teaching cello privately. Aside from music, Lily’s a passionate runner and figure skater.
Lily finds inspiration in British cellist Jacqueline du Pre. “She made a career through her cello playing and inspires me every day.” Here is one of Lily’s favorite performances:
